I have long been thinking about building a piece of furniture that I can combine with CNC designs to create something that is beautiful and unique. The frame of the chest is made from scratch from pine to my own design to fit this particular alcove. The drawers are hardwood ply and the drawer fronts and top are 20mm thick solid Sapele. The main Mandala design has been sized up and broken into drawer sized pieces to enable it to be individually carved on my CNC. It is very satisfying for a complicated design to make it from my head to a finished piece of furniture almost exactly as I'd imagined
