Made as a commission this large toy box was built around an 18mm plywood base for strength then using solid pine ripped down to size the sides were built up and interlocked again to create a sturdy box. The handles were cut out using a router as was the top edge to protect little fingers from a slamming lid! the name plate was carved from MDF and the whole box was spray painted in bright pink, perfect for a little princess! The final touch after fitting the hinges was to add a soft close gas strut which also holds the lid open
