I am always looking to show ways in which I can create unique items for the home and so I made this table to demonstrate how a functional piece of furniture can be personalised to suit your taste. Your favourite song lyrics, poem or quotation can be carved to really create a unique focal point and it could be in a variety of fonts, material or colour. This particular table is made from beatiful solid sapele and features lyrics from my favourite Elbow song carved to a depth of 2mm, I was going to paint in the letters but once carved I really liked the natural look so I decided against it. The edge of the table has a bevel to match the angle of the legs and has so far recieved one coat of Danish oil but will receive 2 more coats and then a spray lacquer for protection.
